Our pet cremation services are flexible based on your specific needs. Our goal is to guide you through each step of the grieving process so we can fully cherish the memories you have had with your pet. This page is going to discuss our process for pet cremation, how it is exclusive to your pet, private cremation services, and any additional services or fees you should be aware of during the process.
Private Pet Cremation
During the normal pet cremation process, not in a private cremation, your pet and a few others will be cremated together, and your pet’s ashes may be mixed with others when delivered to you. If you prefer to have your pet cremated alone and ensure the ashes you receive are only your pet’s, then a private cremation is recommended. At The Last Paws, we only perform private pet cremation services as we believe it should only be your pet being honored during this process.
What is Private Pet Cremation?
A private pet cremation refers to the process in which your animal is the only pet in the cremation chamber. This is an exclusive service from start to finish. “How do you ensure that it is only my pets ashes that I am getting back?” This is a common question and with a private cremation, you can be rest assured that what you receive is 100% your animal. After your pet’s cremation, their cremated remains will be returned to you in a wooden chest urn with their name engraved on top, as well as the date of birth and death. If you are interested in choosing a different urn or memorabilia, we have a number of options for you to choose from and our staff will be happy to help show you, so you may choose the best way to remember your loved one.
Pet Cremation Prices
Prices for private cremation services are calculated based on the size of your pet, with higher fees for larger pets and lower fees for smaller pets. Prices start at $95 for pets under 5 pounds and $250 for pets weighing up to 100 pounds. For every pound above 100 pounds, there is a $1 dollar per pound fee. We also include a paw print impression of your pet’s paw in clay if you want to add a special keepsake before the cremation.
Private Cremation Services Offered
We love seeing friends and family of their pets come together and share memories of their loved ones. As we are here to help you during your time of grief, we also enjoy being a part of the memory with you when honoring your beloved pet. We treat your pet as if they were our own, cherished as a member of The Last Paws family. Private pet cremation starts at $250 for a private 1-hour viewing located in our Aspen room on weekdays during business hours (9am-4pm). If you can’t make it during business hours, we do offer private viewings after hours on weekdays for $350 (8am-6pm). All viewings are for parties of 50 people or less, and you will always have a dedicated staff member on-site to help you. Currently, we do not offer weekend services for pet cremation or burial.
Bringing Your Pet to Us
As one of their last stops before they cross the rainbow bridge, you may bring your pet to our funeral home before their cremation service. At no cost to you, pets may be delivered to the funeral home during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. If weekends work better for you and your family, our staff is there to meet with you, but weekend requests will incur a $100 fee. If you wish to not bring your pet to us, we understand completely. We can pick your pet up at your home after passing or euthanasia during normal business hours for a $50 fee, and after business hours for a $150 fee.
